Did any one just see that. Extremely bright.venus magnitude for a few seconds then nothing. Stationary from my perspective.
Plane maybe in rapid decent with headlights on. But very strange:shrug:

Could have been a head-on meteorite. I saw one a few years back it was a bright star (similar to Rigel Kent) then vanished.

What Trevor said.

MANY years ago when I was a teenager, I saw an exceptionally bright "burst" of light, that lasted a few seconds. My mind raced, I thought supernova, but no way... next morning, I rang Mt. Stromlo... spoke to an nice Pommy astronomer, who explained it was a head on or "point" meteorite. We had a good 10 minute discussion about many things astronomy.

Wonder if they would do that these days?

I'm sure they would Lewis , the few I've spoken with have been very much
willing to talk things astronomy and engage others in regard . :)

That's what I thought too. Just odd for tow people to seem similar a day or so apart in the same area and 1000's of ks apart?
