Yes, it was taken between 1:50 AM and 2:30 AM. Not that early for me considering I am usually taking my first shot by 3 AM. :lol:

Unfortunately it isn't my lens. It's Rocket Boy's! The camera was his, too.

The reason why I wanted to use his camera was because I had initially intended to image the Antares and Rho Ophiuchus region with that beautiful red. But, by the time I had finished drift aligning and taking test composition shots, it was too low, and after four exposures, it had sunk behind the trees. :(

Whilst the camera was still mounted, we decided to shoot some other targets.

It's a beautiful camera and a beautiful lens. Maybe one day in the very distant future... Until that time, I'll just hope someone feels kind enough to donate one for my birthday which is just around the corner. :P

Very nice. It seems to have a bit of a yellow/green tinge to it which I find a little distrcting but ignoring that there's very nice fine detail in there and good exposure range.

Howdy Humayun, wow thats fantastic, such good tracking and focus. The stars of the SMC are being resolved like diamond dust, amazing. I think the LMC has a lot of bright blue stars as shots ive taken come out mostly blue too.
Gee it was a great night at Kulnurra want it :)
Cant wait to see your Corona Australia and Antares pics

Now that I think about it, 2-minute sub-exposures may have been more conducive to coaxing out finer detail in the cloud. Though, it may have been detrimental as the cluster would then be blown out. Then again, layer masking could have fixed that. I love this hobby. :)

The Antares pictures I took (four of them) were deleted off the memory card before we slewed to Corona Australis. Maybe, if Kulnura is on again this Saturday night, I'll dedicate the night to just that region.
