Eagle in SHO

Finally got around to processing this years M16 data and I'm pretty happy with it. Still lots more to learn in PI but I'm absolutely loving it so far :D

Very nice, lots of detail. Best to pump up the reds in narrowbands as otherwise you get excess green. Curves, pixel maths, combine ratos etc do it.

Are you looking at the ones on this page or the one on my blog?
I ask because I've just realised how terrible these attached 200k jpegs look! the ones here are all soft and have more green in them.

I'll upload a smaller and more colour accurate one here tonight anyway.

I looked at the image on the blog, Hugh, although admittedly on my laptop which doesn't have a calibrated screen. I'll check it on my good screen when I get home.

Hmmm, thanks Rick.
I'm looking at it on my work monitor which is pretty good, not calibrated but it's a 2 week old HP Dreamcolour. There's definitely some green around the outside of the image but it's a fairly subtle green (kind of pale olive colour) which was intentional, but I'm not a fan of too much green in NB images either.

I did actually pull a bit of red out of the image right at the end as I felt the image had a bit of a magenta wash over it, perhaps I went too far :)

I always find it tough to tweak the colours in my own narrowband images. I'm working on a SHO palette image of SH2-190 at present. You may feel I took too much green out of it when I post it, Hugh :)

Lovely! and the more traditional (and many would say correct) HST like palette looks quite good...enjoyment is the main thing in this game, we shouldn't get too wound up in just trying to make so called perfect images and forget the other rewarding aspects of what we do and love :thumbsup:
