wanting to upgrade to an APO from the SV80mm- i was looking at the C80ED- but having a WO66 at 400f/l- the C80ED is 600mm, so i started to look at the new C6" SCT which is 945f/l,, any reason why the C80ED would be more desirable?

The light gathering capability of the C6 should allow you to access many more DSO's and be able to see some structure and detail in them compared to the C80ED.

The C80ED will provide gorgeous, wide field views and is probably more portable as a grab and go ‘scope.

I guess it comes down to what use you will put the instrument to?

Good luck.

Assuming this scope is for ccd, the 80ed will be easier to use: no collimation needed, no cooldown/focus issues.

i dunno, i think both seem about the same portablility- so im thinkin mainly for DSLR and then comparing 80mm versus 6" aperature- i got the WO66, so i my case maybe the 6" is a better choice?
