Hi all, untill I wait my HD containing all my fits back for reparation (got a crash and many of the files were not back-up ) here I go with one of the few images on the work-in-progress that got saved:
Bernes 149 in Scorpius (http://www.glitteringlights.com/Images/Nebulae/i-RVbcRGW)
Bernes 149 is an obscure nebula complex consisting of the reflection nebula GN 16.05.2 at the center of an elongated dusty dark nebula. It is part of the LUPUS complex (actually it is also known as Lupus 3 cloud). I got a nice description of this object from Sakib Rasool that was also the one suggesting me this unknown target. Despite the relatively quite long exposure (in particular Luminance) I found this nebula fainter than expected, even if still manageable.
As usual I took this image from Coona using my 140APO.
Hope you will like it
Clear skies
Marco

A beautiful photo Marco.
I love the detail and colours you have captured!
I was in Coonabarabran for the July new moon and I photographed the same object. However mine was only with a 4" refractor and a OSC ccd.
I have yet to process it but it looks very dim!
I will be able to use your great shot as a benchmark.
Thanks.
Ross.

Thank you all guys for the appreciation :) As said this one was much dimmer than expected and was not easy to take out, time for me to think about a larger aperture :D
Hi Ross, it is but I am sure you will be able to get it out as well, Coona skies are very dark :)
Thanks again!
