Photo Challenge

The topic this month is: "Airborne"
(Airborne means ANYTHING in the air - aircraft, insects, people, balloons, smoke... whatever.)

This thread is only for posting your entry and any comments you'd like to make about your own photo.
If you would like to comment on other entries please use the comments thread.
As usual, one entry per person and the image must be your own work.
Normal forum rules and image size applies.

The image doesn't necessarily have to have been taken this month but we do encourage you to go out and enjoy the challenge.
The winner of the poll, which will be run at the end of the month, will get to choose next month's topic and have their
photo posted in our "Photo Challenge Hall of Fame" (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=3355)thread.

Good luck and good shooting.

:)

Ok I'll get this one started early
Was driving past the end of Newcastle airport and 3 of these came in to land
One had to wave around so I quickly pulled the camera out and got this .

My first go in this section.
I had this image languishing on my hard drive since June.
Captured one early morning from my back yard.

A lonely Spitfire poignantly, to me, in the skies above South East England. To be precise, above Dunsfold Park airfield, home to the Top Gear race track.

The Jenny and Blue Wren pair nesting out the back are obsessed with their own reflections in a neighbours window and go and look 3 or 4 times every hour.
So this is the Jenny trying to dominate her twin by flying up but it never works. They are equally matched :-)

Being way out west, with my new Canon 700D I can finally attempt some of the shots I have wanted for years ! This Australian Kestral is a regular visitor to our hillslopes in the Western Downs.

Last weekend I climbed up to Broker Nose, which is on the escarpment behind my place, for the first time in over 40 years. It's one of the things I've wanted to do since I moved back here. Not too much has changed - tracks more eroded, more mindless graffiti carved into the rock. While I was taking a few happy snaps of the coast this came by. It's amazing what you can do with an old ride-on mower and a couple of spare weekends. :D

A familiar sight over Winmalee skies last October ; the ever present helicopters certainly reassured residents that everything that could be done was being done to protect their houses and property. I can't say the sun is up in the air but the smoke and helicopter certainly are.
