This has 18.5 hours of OIII and still looks a little colorless. I don't think my backyard is the ideal environment for imaging faint planetary nebula halos.

Well done, Steve! Just think... another 45.5 hours and you'll have twice the SNR  The halo of IC 5148 is a very faint, elusive and difficult target.
Cheers,
Rick.

Don't have the patience mate - not like you. I suppose though if Sakib gets his OIII survey up I might be doing more of this stuff. Fortunately we've had reasonable skies recently - very unusual.
Thanks Paul. As you said up at Parkes it looks like mega is the future.

Thanks Ross - glad you liked it
Thanks Louie. Somehow I always seem to have a degree of luck imaging this object.

Interesting you say that mate because I experience the same on certain objects as we'll,a no luck on others...I wonder if this happens to everyone?

Who knows? With me it's mainly this object for the good luck. My images of it more than 10 years back still look pretty respectable.
