Getting this one while I can. It's a pre dawn comet in the east just below Orion, about mag 8.
ED100 at F7.2, 30 x 1 minutes, dual stack, Pentax K-5.

I have now caught comet fever after capturing Siding Spring, this picture is just so very epic. How dark were the skies you captured this under?

nice colourful image
Is it two stacks to have the comet not trailing ? (median stack on the comet, and stars, stacked?)
Thanks

Skies are not too bad in that direction, but low altitude tends to absorb some light, especially if there is haze. Thankfully there was good transparency that night.
Yes Roger, it's a dual stack. I'm still experimenting with the best methods in DSS. Median Kappa Sigma I think it's called for the stacks helps reject the unwanted background.

Thanks Kevin for another great image.
I saw Comet Oukaimeden this morning and was impressed, it is brighter than Comet Siding Spring and has a better tail.

Thanks Glen and Mike. 2013 V5 is too low for me now. Have to wait for it to reappear in the morning skies, but it will have faded by then.
