Hello all,
Spent the night back at one of my favorite locations to image from a couple of nights ago. There was still a bit of snow around from heavy falls earlier in the year.
With the central bulge of the Milky Way directly overhead and a crescent Moon setting in the west, I thought it was a good time to do another all sky panorama before setting up for a few timelapse sequences.
A lot of people on other sites have said I should have called this image "Dragons Eye" and I agree that that would be a great title for this, but "Infinity" more reflects what I was feeling on this night, as I spent a large part of it just lying on my back and staring up into night sky.

Man you are good! Usually I don't like these circular fisheye style images but that one is great!

Interesting image. How do you keep yourself out of the image?

Thank you so much Niv and Terry :D This isn't a single fisheye lens image Niv. It is a 23 image panorama using a 14mm lens. So I did about 14 images around the horizon (with the camera in portrait orrientation). I then moved the camera up at a 45 degree angle and did another 8 images in a circle and then one final image pointing straight up. These are then loaded into a panorama stitching program and this is the end result. So to answer your querry Terry about not getting myself in the shot, I just kept on moving behind the camera as I was taking the individual images.

Thanks for the background about how you compiled the panorama. I'm not usually a fan of this type of image, but this is definietely an exception!
May I ask, which panorama stitching program you used to put the 23 images together?
Cheers,
Rohan

Thank you very much everyone :D
PTGui Pro. Not cheap but works great everytime and gives you a lot more flexibility and control over your panos than other programs I have used in the past.
