well i do hope this can have the longevity of the amazing thread
"what are you listening to right now?"
on my travels through this fabulous forum i have come across a mount for sale but in the background there have been more than a few "odd" cases of penfolds bin series wines
so own up! what have you hidden? what have you cellared? do you have a favourite grape or beer style, what have been your most amazing wines or beers?
this should be extremely interesting!

Currently, a Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban scotch on the rocks... Earlier, I shared a bottle of 'Pieter Van Gent' 2007 Cab Sav from my latest Mudgee trip, very nice drop... I've often heard them referred to as 'Mudgee mud', but personally, I really like the wines found around the Mudgee area... To each his own..

Tap water... Can't say I'm gaining a vast amount of pleasure from it, but my body prefers it.

Pat, oh my god!!!! If I board a plane and fly across tonight, can you save me a glass of that Sparkling Shiraz :eyepop::eyepop::eyepop:

If not, I'll have to just finish of my Morris Old Premium Tokay & Muscut :D

After many trips to hospital and two trips to rehab I gave up the drink 17 months ago or there would be a great chance I wouldn't be writing this now. However I'm not a killjoy and like to see others enjoy themselves.

Yesterday arvo/evening would have been suited to gin with the warm sunny weather here. This morning would have been scotch, warm and comforting in the belly.

Scotch was my poison, every waking hour. I've previously read some here enjoy a good scotch. My favourite was Lagavulin 16 year old single malt, beautiful peaty/smoky flavour, but too expensive to drink all the time. Never add ice to a scotch, a few dribbles of water is OK and on some can even enhance the flavour.

I have just finished two very lively drops that were both gifts, which is always a bonus.

The first, Deetswood Sparkling Shiraz from Tenterfield, a real delight. The novelty of bubbly Shiraz doesn't wear thin at any point!

The second was a black edition Cassegrain Nabbiolo, which was nine kinds of wonderful.

I've got a handful of craft beers in the fridge, so they'll make up my next voyage of conquests.

Can we also talk about coffee blends and roasts?

Milk ....:D ... non flavored .

I have a 700ml Bottle of Johnnie Walker ' Red Label ' Scotch Whisky ( I won it in a ' Raffle ' eons ago ) ...it sits on the cupboard still unopened to this day ..... maybe I should put it up in the ' Classifieds ' :D

Go Flash ....!!

Agreed on all accounts

However, given the our of the day, my drink is currently a macchiato from 50% Ethiopia Gambella and 50% India Elephant Hill.

Cheers

I like a nice Shiraz. Penfolds do some seriously good wines, but their BIN range is getting a bit out of hand price wise. Wirra Wirra's 40th Anniversary Church Block Cab Shiraz Merlot blend is amazingly good (& only $20).

After a recent hot air ballooning trip at Langmeil in the Barossa Valley I've become quite a fan of their Shiraz. It's really great value. But my favourite is the local Bird In Hand "Two In The Bush" Shiraz from the Adelaide Hills. Their Nest Egg was recently awarded world's greatest Shiraz for the 2nd time. Plus they sponsor our footy club, so I have to say that.

I also don't mind a nice cool climate Pinot.

For those of you that like a sparkling red BIH make an amazing sparkling Pinot Noir. Not my fancy, but the ladies think it's great.

Pretty lucky here. I can just go for a 5 - 10 minute drive and get any number of great wines from the local cellar doors.

But right now, I'm going to have an OJ.

Well seeing it was my birthday yesterday (thanks for not noticing you pack of scurvy dogs), wife and I drank a bottle of Rose for memory's sake (we got stupidly insanely drunk on a big bottle of Italian rose once - I still think it was laced with grappa!!!).

Seeing I am such an alco (sarcasm), I probably won't have another till Matt comes northward soon. And then back to dihydrogen monoxide.

I just won't drink the Kool-aid...

Be careful with that stuff, it's one of the most dangerous substances on the planet: http://www.dhmo.org/facts.html

I just restarted my amateur home brew for the first time in years this week, as part of my ongoing renovations of the shed and laundry. I suddenly found a spare bit of bench top that was just the right size for the Coopers home brew to live in, so I thought 'why the hell not'? :D

Tonight I am trying narrow band for the first time with my new (well had it for months in the cupboard!!) SBIG STT8300 and self guiding filterwheel so in celebration I am having Ha red -Barossa Cat amongst the pigeons Shiraz, then later I might have a green cordial or a blue jelly bean!! Just to balance out the filters!
Seriously though will stick to shiraz tonight as not working tomorrow.
My mate (who lives and breathes the Hawks) has invited me around Friday to watch the game, and he makes a really exceptional home brew selection including wheat beer and his current latest- a chocolate stout. Had it last Hawks game and it was amazing (the stout!). Looking forward to that stout more than the game for if Cats win he is unbearable, and if the Cats lose then so is my Father in law. Can't we all just support Leicester city Football Club ??:rofl::lol:

Hi,

I've found plonk is the deadly enemy of astro observation. It should have been easy to figure this out in advance, but I've tried long and hard for a good blend (so to speak), with no success.

I don't know how many times now I've had a good sky at a dark site, then sabotaged myself. My mates never allow me to forget the time I was found asleep with a cowpat for a pillow, by a 12" dob in the early morning, on the Dunville Loop in the Capertee Valley. I was lucky it was summer.

So I've learned to pace it. My favourite special tipple at the moment is Blue Curacao, or white Triple Sec, but as I said, with discipline.

Cheers

Little Creatures Pale Ale. Delicious proper beer! I'm not that keen on most lagers.

Coincidentally, I went camping in the same place a few months ago and had a very similar experience involving a bottle of scotch and a camping chair... High, light cloud when I was woken the next morning, so at least I had a plausible excuse
