This new moon we have had a run of lovely sunny days down here in Colac, and each evening promises to be nice and clear, and 4 nights so far I have set up, collimated, aligned the Argo, done a couple of obs and then bam! clouds. Next morning dawns lovely and clear and we do it all again.
Luckily I have had 2 nights when I made some decnt obs, last night knocked over about 20 new objects, but tonight it happened again. After setup, had a look at Comet Siding Spring and did one object in Phoenix (NGC7689), looked up after writing a note on 7689 and it was clouded over solid.

Join the club Malcolm; I haven't got an image in over 10 weeks. Got all set up three times during that period, only for the same thing to happen to me as happened to you.:(:(:(

It's always the same old story in this horrible climate. THe forecast was for sunshine/clear skies every day this last week, but in reality only ONE night was usable and yesterday was flat-out overcast and cold, contrary to the forecast :mad2:

Tonight looks good, but lots of remnant haze from this fog crud. Probably will get a nice deck of high cloud moving in right on sunset like always anyway  :mad2:  :mad2:

This image is from yesterday. FFS :mad2:

After 2-3 months of virtually total cloud-out (except full Moons of course), we've had two weeks of cracker skies here, go figure. Not much rain though right through winter and a very very dry August.

I'm lovin' it but looking forward to the Moon waxing so I can get some sleep... ;) :P

Cheers -

Looks like tonight is a goer. Going to attack some Planetaries in Sag/Sco and Aql.
