Hi Folks

This is my first attempt at imaging the Helix nebula.

It consists of: 33 x 5 minute subs at ISO 800 captured using a Canon 60Da with a CLS clip in LP filter.

I stacked and subtracted darks, flats and bias followed by an intial power stretch using Nebulosity 3.0.

Although I haven't used them yet I also have 30 x 60 second subs to work with for the star colours.

Any thoughts on how to proceed with further processing in PS CS5 would be much appreciated as I'm still very much a novice when it comes to processing, particularly now that I'm using a LP filter.

Thank you all in advance for your suggestions.

Paul

Hope you don't mind, but I ran it through a few photoshop actions I created, and some denoising.

I don't mind at all Lewis - I like what you've done and it looks very promising.

Can I ask what processes you used in PS please? I'd like to have a go at trying to replicate what you did myself.

Paul

(PS Mike if you're out there I've just realised that I didn't place this in the Beginners Astrophotography as I ought to have - sorry :-(. Is it possible to move it?)

Masked stretched it as far as the lossy-JPEG allowed. Then ran some selective colour enhancements and contrast boosts. Denoised it with Imagenomik's routine.
