Folks, raining AGAIN here in Sydney, so I've been peeking at some of the wide field shots I took at AstroFest...

It's not a very good picture, quality-wise, lots of noise - or is it stars? :D This segment was taken from a stack of 6x 5m exposures with the camera mounted on my EQ6 using a Tokina 11-16mm lens at 16mm and f/4.

This one is a crop (and 50% shrink from source) of the area in central Cygnus which had just crossed the meridian - Deneb is the bright star at the bottom of the picture with Sadr up and left from that, and SE from that is Gienah. Then a little more SE is the Eastern Veil trying to poke through.
To the right of Deneb it looks like the North America nebula, with hints of the Pelican.

Lots of good stuff up there in Cygnus, although sadly I never got to see much more than the bright stars due to light pollution when I lived up north

Just wanted to share, surprised the shapes of the nebulosity came out the way they did :)

That's very dense in stars, as it would be with the milky way running through there.

My sky is one F stop darker in the north compared to the south, in spite of half a dozen street lights nearby to the north. To the south I get city skyglow.

Thanks Kevin!

What are you waiting for.. Cygnus will be gone before long  (although I'm sure much higher for you!)

Comets have me all tied up at the moment. Astronomy is a funny thing with me. No clear weather for ages and I get withdrawls like many here, but too many clear nights and I get sick of it, like eating too much chocolate at once lol.

 I used to get a bit like that when I lived up north. Now I just can't get enough :D

Nice area Dunk. Cygnus really does have a lot to offer. Unfortunately the only lenses I have aren't worth the time or effort to use as they are really low quality, and with my scope l would have to do a 25 panel mosaic to match your FOV. Although that would be an awesome achievement, unfortunately I don't have that much spare time.
