It hasn't been a good year for clear weather on new moon weekends, so all I have is more narrowband from home :mad2:
Here's an image of M 17 which started as Hubble Palette and had a bit of an accident. I was trying to do something just a little different...
Scope: Ceravolo C300 @ f/9 = 2760mm FL, Atlas focuser
Mount: AP900
Camera: U16M
Filters: Astrodon E series Gen 2 LRGB
Guiding: Lodestar / MMOAG
Image scale: 0.67 arcsec/pixel
Exposures: 8x1200s+11x1800s Ha, 7x1200s+18x1800s O3, 7x1200s+31x1800s S2, 7x300s R, 7x300s G, 7x300s B
(8.15 hrs Ha, 11.3 hrs O3, 17.83 hrs S2 - total 39.08 hrs)
High res is on Astrobin: http://www.astrobin.com/115053/
Hope you like it. If you don't... tell me why. I appreciate the great feedback I've had from folks on IIS
Cheers,
Rick.

Hmmm? Ricki ...I dooon't think it is quiiiite deep enough ...I'm sure there are a few iti bitti spaces in there that could be filled in with some more nebulosity .......:P
Ok, seriously :D I like it, heaps of neb everywhere, specially that light blue outer stuff and yes the somewhat pastel colours are different but in a good way I recon
In the end you can go round in circles with this narrowband stuff if you try and meet everyones expectations :)

Very nice close up Rick! I like the light blues
I know what you mean with the weather. It just so happens that I started my M17 project last first quarter Moon with intentions of collecting the rest of the data this new Moon, however forecasts are not very favorable for this weekend.

Pretty good Rick! I think you did a better job than I did.

Thanks, Mike! Deciding on narrowband colour is a bit like my wife picking which shoes to wear... OK, slight exaggeration. There are only 16 million colours in an 8-bit image, so the shoes are much harder ;)
Ta, Rod. Sorry about your weekend. Hope the weather improves!
Thanks, Steve. I'll look forward to what you can do with your a repro. Are you going to try for more Ha?

That's a different take to a common object. I also like the colour palette.
Amazing detail and staggering exposure times. :)

That's a really good pic Rick. I think you've handled the dynamic range quite well. Straight Ha would have looked flat but the fact you've used tri-color makes the view really interesting.

Thanks, H! It's not too hard to rack up narrowband hours now that I have ACP minding the scope for me. The main limitation is the weather.
Thanks, Peter. There's always something that could be improved ;) The stars for a start!
Thanks very much, Marc!

The weather. Argh!
Last night, I went to collect some more data on Rho Ophiuchus. I did my first plate solve, finished the focus run, and, the clouds came to join the party. Have stayed ever since. :(
