Not going to get into the politics behind the spending, that coffee table would be pretty damn cool to have, with all the element samples in it...
Not sure about the price tag, but it sure would look good sitting in the man-cave...

You know that isn't as exorbitant as you might think. The uni just put a bunch of outdoor tables and seats around campus, the type of thing you see in parks or camping grounds. I was told the tables are $2000 each. To me they look like $200. Money ain't what it used to be.
