There is no feeling in the world like when the entire week is forecast to be sunny/clear, then in the next update it gets downgraded to cloudy and showers EVERY DAY.
Migraine inducing. I actually did get a headache when I check the latest forecast. No kidding. Thank god for beer and punching bags.
Tonight was supposed to be clear, but alas, there is a disgusting maritime deck of vomit overhead, and well tomorrow's promised sunshine is now "cloudy with showers", and ofcourse the "mostly sunny" forecast for the remainder of the week has met the same fate. :mad2::mad2::mad2::mad2::mad2:

I feel your pain. I just got a new (old) mount and a whole stack of new toys including an OAG + guider. I spent 3hrs last night out in the backyard without even managing to get it polar aligned due to a cluster... of issues and now the weather forecast is for showers and clouds for the foreseeable future.
Weather man does get it wrong though so I'm hoping some of these will change to mostly sunny closer to the date.

Same here in Sydney. It's been raining pretty well since Sunday
So long as it clears up for New a Moon... :D

You're all lucky. So far here it has been either cloudy or wet for the last two weeks and apart from one night, 8th August, it was cloudy and wet for the two weeks previous to that !
'Land of the Long White Cloud' is all too true at the spring equinox ...
More fiddly projects needed to keep me busy.

Those here in NSW have had a pretty reasonable run this winter, so set aside any frustration and be thankful for the clouds that have brought decent rain in time for spring growth. It was getting pretty dry in many areas of the state. I know how you feel, but since my enthusiasm for astronomy has not waned over nearly 50 years, but I say to myself "there is always next new moon, or next year." Trouble is my eyesight seems to be fading with all those years, and next year may not be able to see what I see this year.

Today looks a bit brighter but still 7/8 clag.
In the meantime, why don't we all become cloud appreciators?

I've been getting some pretty good nights up my way.
The problem is that it's usually during the week nights and come the weekend it's wall to wall cloud or rain.

Me too - but we've had a good "winter" so far, and we need the rain to keep the bush fires at bay and ruining the transparency :D
Never would have said that back in Blighty

Today was supposed to clear up evidently, and the satpic looks like it might clear soon, yet it is getting darker and darker outside.
Unfortunately, all the clag over southern Victoria gets backed up against the dividing range like an over-clogged toilet.

Winter? It's just like an average summer's day in England
Yeah, I think if I'd moved to that part of Australia, I'd be almost ready to pack me bags and go back :eyepop:  ...and I'm sure there'd be no shortage of volunteers to help :P

Yeah the clouds out the window definitely didn't match the satellite pictures :confused2:
The risk of rain put me off

Overcast. Disgusting maritime clag backed up against the Great Dividing Range like an overflowing toilet. Flat out 8/8 overcast. Not even Skippysky predicted this insane filth, and in my experience, Skippysky's cloud forecasts are accurate, a lot better than the Weatherzone app on my phone. Beer and wine flowing like the Niagara Falls. I'm ready to cry, I should cry because then I can harvest my tears .... easiest free booze ever.
The updated trollcast now says showers for the weekend, downgraded from "sunny".

I spoke too soon... not to rub salt into tender wounds, but we ended up having a pretty clear night up here last night, so I managed to get my new toys to play nicely enough for a test run and do my first LRGB image. Good times!

I purchased my first telescope Wednesday last week (10" Dob)... In regional Victoria I've had one day to use it so far. Every other day has been severely overcast!

Which part of regional vic are you in?
Looks like tonight might be the night finally. Can actually see the sun. My nausea is starting to fade.
