If you didn't know that was the Carina Nebula rising over the horizon, you could be forgiven for thinking they were fireworks or flares?

Thank you very much guys, sorry for the late reply. I've just returned from a 3 week tour of NZ's south island. Not too many nightscapes to be had, I quickly learnt why NZ is also know as the Land of the Long White Cloud. Regardless the landscape, flora and fauna are stunning, I'll be posting some photos soon.
