Hope everyone is enjoying the full moon tonight. I'm at Hearsons bay on the Burrup Penninsula,WA. Great turn out with the whole beach packed with hardly a parking spot. A few telescopes along the beach and a lot of people taking pictures. Fantastic. Enjoy everyone.

Hey everyone on IIS,
Tomorrow night is a Super moon, going to be 14 percent bigger than the normal moon, and some other cool info, the moon is going to be 50,000 km closer to Earth which means it is going to be 356,000 km away from earth :).
Best times to view it is at sunset and a bit into the night.

Hi
just getting the telescope set up in the backyard I live in hamley bridge S/A about 5 km from the stockport observatory, its been cloudy all day
but it appears to be clearing so should be ok to view.
cheers ian
Use a x2 barlow and it will only be 178,000 klm away :-)

I only have a pair of binoculars, but can see quite a few details of the moon...

Looks like the same old moon to me...same detail, same everything. Funny that :) ;) :D I will just use the 20mm EP instead of the 18

Yes, it is the same old moon... the same old face, but just like you don't get tired of seeing your wife's face for example you don't get tired of seeing the moon's face. :)
