Hey all,

Been around for quite a while, not extremely active in the forum, but I decided tonight I would try out my brand new tripod in my front yard. I am shooting with a Canon 1000D with a 75-300mm canon lens, shooting at 1600 ISO, f11 and 1/400.

It's actually my first ever picture on the forum, I did some stars the other week but the lens was wrong so didn't turn out very well.

Any ideas or tips would be much appreciated, this photo has not been post processed at all, straight off the camera.

Thanks

Edit:

I also took this one during the "Supermoon" event recently:

Hi Jarryd,

These are fantastic! I can't give you any advice because I'm a complete beginner, I just wanted to say that I enjoyed the pics.
I had my first attempt at white trash astrophotography last night (sticking a smartphone up to my telescope eyepiece) and was pleasantly surprised with the results. I'd love to learn how to do correct AP though, using the camera mounted to the telescope and image overlay etc for the deep sky objects.

Cheers!
