Hello,

I thought that I would try imaging earlier this morning, around 8:45am to see if the more even temperatures would improve the seeing. If there was a difference, I was unable to see it as the effect was swamped by the wobbles of the Sun being at a low altitude.

I also tried the other 2 filters I have acquired over the years, a Lumicon UHC and an Astronomik IR Pro 807 but the results were disappointing, with very low contrast, washed out images.

I returned to the trusted Baader IR blocker as recommended by Erwin, and that gave the most visually pleasing image. Here is an image with 2 alignment points, guess where they were?;)

17 and 15 frames from an 1800 frame avi. C9.25 prime focus. 1/500 sec at 5fps.

Cheers

Nice one Dennis.

The next logical step is to create an anim gif showing how these two are changing from day to day.

Yet another great image, Dennis!

Fantastic work with the cloning tool to eliminate the hair folicles so you could pass off a macro shot of a melanoma as sunspots!:P

Great work again Dennis, amazing how much they are changing. I might try and get out again later, but the middle of the jetstream is right overhead.

Yeah - tell me about it, I couldn't even get one frame sharp out of 1800 frames in all my avi's after mid-morning. :( :(

Came inside to upload the early morning avi’s and discovered the data drive on the desk top is full, all 320G. Oh well, let’s get some practice at zipping up old avi’s once more.

Cheers

Dennis

PS - I've been keeping an eye out on LPOD for your Plato & Alpine Valley image, but haven't seen it yet? Did Chuck advise when he was going to use it?
