This is the Butterfly Nebula, more commonly known as the Bug Nebula. It's taken a while--got a few exposures at the SPSP, some more in June. At this stage the core was blown out, so I took some shorter exposures in July. Finally put it all together.

Exposure around 8 hrs--4 hours of 600s subs and 4 hours of 200s subs.
Telescope: 12.5"PlaneWave CDK
Camera:QSI540wsg
Mount: AP900

I managed to dig out a few more details using PixInsight"s HDRMultiscaleTransform with a star mask to protect the stars.

The thumbnail is a Hubble image?

The linked image is very nice. The thumbnail is spectacular.
