Latest project out of Clayton Observatories - NGC6559 and the surrounding areas.

I found this area quite hard to control the black point. The dark dust lanes here are inky black but in some parts there is some luminance showing on that dust from the bright blue giants. Which makes for a fascinating object to image.

Total integration of this image is 13.8 hours. Subs for luminance and Ha were 30 minutes. Colour subs were 20 minutes. I suspect though given the aperture I should really have done 40 minutes on the lum and Ha.

You've missed M8! Really cool shot. The blues and violets came up really good. Lots of details.

That would make a nice big colour print. I can see how it would be a challenge to process. I'd fail at it for sure.

That's excellent, and I think you've managed the dark areas really well! :D

very fine deep image Paul - the inky black bits are particularly neat.

What!, so chucking in more pink 3 ms before a post after 13.8hrs of pain is a cool new processing technic?.

Thanks all. I really appreciate you making the comments.

Hell I did miss M8, bugger.

Yes I can see two Petzval's duelling at 20 paces soon.

:rofl:Yep that pink was a real pain to master. ;) I hate that god damn black dust. It looks so cool when it is dusty and furry but that inky black is tough to control.

I revisited the central "pink area" and have changed the hue of that. I am wondering what others think?

I like the blueish lacing around the edges of the pink Paul!
