M 8 - from a hard session.

My plan worked. Multi-exposition time and stacking as group in DSS.

The weird black line are causing problems. I lost the sensor. The session was terrible, with many problems: PHD, BackyardEos, clouds and others.
The sky was more than beautiful, black, clean, dark... and I fighting against all. :(

Now I am very tired to continue with the processing. I would like to experiment another way to mix Halfa information.
I know it can be a little better. I have signal !

I agree. I was very tired and published the image without finish the processing. It needs some sharp to enhance some details of nebula surface. But it needs to be with very carefull, to don't destroy de good and natural appearance of stars near, inside and in front of. I did it only on the easy access areas.
I need identity some blue stars to enahnce theirs colors, too.

Yes, Rod, yes ! I didn't understand: nothing was working well, and I only solved the problem when I decided to do a complete change in conection USB and ports. I have three, and always I use the same to the equipments. But this night... I need to change the ASI and Canon camera.
After this all works well.
I was shotting Ant Nebula, wainting to M 8 get a good position in the sky. When it occured, an weird, strange, E.T. cloud appeared from nothing. The unique cloud of and on the sky. And ... just in front of my target M 8. 40 minutes waiting to clear the area, with my target going to an area over a near city with more light pollution !

Kevin, we were talking about Canon and DSS processing of image. The clear sky, and low refraction, helped very much the quality of the image. But the number of photos and ISOs used show what I always say about Canon and DSS. If I use high ISO or long exposure time I can saturate the stars with stacking in DSS. Loosing colors and details.
I could use a little more time to light photos. I did 120 seconds, and maybe 150 seconds would be ideal. But for the histogram, it was ok with 120.
Because unmod Canon I would need more than 1 hour to Halfa. Despite the result from stacking in DSS of the Halfa is well.
Low exposure time and hight ISO seems to be the best set to Halfa with my set of equipments.

I will process the Ant Nebula and RCW 102. I did, now, RCW 103 a very faint and small half-ring nebula to my final test of use (or not use) the Halfa and filter wheel. I will publish them when ready.
