Here is a work-in-progress M16, it needs lots more data to overcome the noise but I'm happy with the way it's going.

I started taking 20 minute subs but soon realised I wasn't getting much of the faint stuff over the insanely light polluted sky, especially in SII, so I switched to 30 minute subs. I'm getting a considerably better SNR with 30 minute exposures but some of the brighter stars are maxing out - I guess that's just a feature/limitation of the KAF-8300. I'll take some shorter subs for the stars when I've got enough data of the nebula.

SII – 6x20min + 12x30min
Ha – 6x20min + 2x30min
OIII – 4x20min + 2x30min

Thanks David, it's a challenge but if I didn't do it in the city I'd only get a few chances a year to get to dark skies. Actually I'm itching for a good clear dark night out of the city, have to make that happen soon!

Looking really good Hugh! Nice and smooth.

Nice clear night tonight for some data, a bit windy though.

Thanks Rod :)
It was a bit too windy for me last night unfortunately.

Cheers Troy.
