Hi folks its been a few months since I posted an image so last night I got the gear out and had a go at the swan nebula.
The results are from 5@300sec plus a couple of darks, the scope was an skywatcher bd ed 100 on an neq6 mount with a modded 1100d.
Not to sure about the colour! any advice and thoughts would be great cheers.

A little too red perhaps (modded cameras are quite red anyway) otherwise a nice shot.

The image is very nice and the nebula has a good color. The reddish appearance told by Kevin has origin in the background.

If you analyse the histogram you will see that the black area of background has RGB around 15,3,3 - 18,2,2. This makes neutral colors redish, mainly around stars.

It is too clipped. Black area of background should have around 20,20,20 or 10,10,10.

You can adjust in curves the blue and green channel. I did here with input 0 and output 8 to both. After, you can use color balance - shadow - cyan red to -8, with preserve luminosity. With this your black area of background will reache around 10,10,11 or 12,12,13.

Curves adjustment any graphic processor has, The color balance... I don't know. I used Photoshop. But you can adjust it in curves red channel with input 4 output 0. It is similar, althougt it clip a bit the red channel.

It worth try it.
