The moon was too bright to image anything else on Friday night, so I thought I'd have a lash at some afocal lunar images.
This is Mare Crisium. I think I underexposed them a bit because I had to do some major adjustments to get it this bright.
6 shots of 1/90 sec @ ISO 200, stacked in Registax with 10 point MAP processing.
It was actually quite fun photographing craters on the moon. I can feel a new obsession coming on. ;)

very impressive for a first or even second attempt,it really is practice from now on, just take heaps of images at different settings till you find out what works.
Well done Andrew
Keep going with the moon shots coz there are so many worthwhile targets and it's loads of fun:thumbsup:

Nice one Andrew. Thanks for adding the labels; they bring the image to life knowing the name of some of the features.
Cheers

Thanks ANdrew, great shot - you must be impressed for a first attempt at the moon, I am! Love the labels too... I'm a bit challenged when it come to knowing what's what on the moon so this sort of thing helps!
