Since I blew up my QSI583ws (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=122804), I was forced to use my 5DII at Astrofest. I decided to make use of the full frame, and coupled with the 135L lens instead of a telescope, go for some very wide field shots that I wouldn't normally attempt.

Here is Corona Australis - the whole constellation. Typically you see just the dust and reflection nebula around NGC6723 etc. I've always liked this constellation visually as it's very clear in the sky and easy to find.

Link to Corona Australis 1920px image (http://astrob.in/full/109117/0/)

Attached below are 800px and a crop of 6723 area.

Edit: Just added a reworked version to accentuate the dust and constellation shape stars

Awesome field of view Troy. This is my favourite of all objects up there. Very nice colouring.

What a neat image, such a consistent density in the starry background. Well done.

Amazingly flat field for a lens. Really cool.

So many stars.... and a black hole. Really nice dark sky image.

Thanks guys. Very impressed with the 135L's performance. There is some slight vignetting that I couldn't get rid of even with flats. I noticed it on this shot more, because the star density is very even across the field, although bottom left is gradually more dense.

Is that the $1k or there about lens model?
