Thinking of average efforts.....I was so engrossed with time-lapses of the same sort of Sol image (https://vimeo.com/100868673)
.....and in no way detracting from excellent Sol imagery from yourself and Paul.....
I simply didn't enter a H-alpha still image in the CWAS/Malins this year (due feedback they were getting boring )
Fact of the matter is, the Sun is interesting, dynamic and sometimes spectacular.
Kudos to those who capture those moments

Amazing shot, great prom detail. Shows that even a quiet sun can be a great view.

First up the image you just put up is very nice. Great colour and sharp detail.
That time lapse is sweet. A few jumps here and there but the dedication to the imaging is spectacular.
I know exactly how you feel with your win of the Solar system hi res in 2012 with the Venus transit. I considered putting in a similar image myself but did not. In the end the better image won on that occasion. To be honest I was shocked that my solar image got up last weekend. I did not expect that.
This is a contender for next year.

Thanks Paul, but nah... it's not.
You caught that very speccy prom and that's exactly the sort of thing required
I'm still learning how to best capture solar animations... so many variables.....
Cheers.

Nice. Must be a bit like a cat and mouse game to get some sun past few days.
