Hi All

Yes another M20/M8 image. This image was taken at the Iceinspace star party and I had not processed it until now because it had some star elongation from my less than perfect polar alignment. I decided to tackle the star shapes and am pleased with the final outcome.

Taken with stock Canon 6D, ISO6400, 60 X 1 minute subs, no calibration. Taken through ES 127mm refractor and 0.67AP reducer.

Thanks Justin, yes agree the 200kb limit especially for wider fields with tons of stars doesn't allow enough scale to appreciate the image. Hence the links to larger image sizes.

The big version is quite spectacular.

Tell me about the 4 star spikes with the refractor.

Thanks Kevin, yes the spikes were added using Carboni's tools :) Not really necessary but not unpleasant to my eye.

They look quite nice, just tricked me a bit. Bright stars with my refractor look pretty bad to be honest. Flare and scatter. I might have to "play" with them a bit ;)

Very interesting image TED and the chroma is quite particular but appealing. I believe you have several dark areas clipped, probably keeping the low lights a bit higher during processing would have helped on that..

I can never get enough of wide field images. I like the FOV and color and you captured a lot of info for only 60s subs.
