Seeing was finally good on friday night. I stayed up until 4.30 am collecting about 70 Gigs of lunar images. Here is the Atlas, Hercules, Endymion sector.
Make sure you enlarge the image using the Windows image resize button at lower right.

31 cm Newtonian. I have not worked out the f/ratio yet as I've only just started using my SkyNyx 2.1M. Wratten 25A filter. Frames stacked using MAP function with Registax 4 beta (12 MAP points).

Looks like I wasn't the only one interested in that area last night. Fantastic shot Zac, absolutely stunning detail.

I get the feeling reading your post that you're just a little bit happy with the new SkyNyx? :) Once you have had a chance to give it a good shake down I'd appreciate your impression of the camera. The SkyNyx were one of a group of cameras I've been looking at over the past few months in preparation for next years Jupiter season.

Very nice image, Zac. 70gigs! Look forward to seeing more of the results.. it's gonna be a marathon processing effort.

What FPS do you use with the skynyx?

Hi Zac this is one fantastic image - worthy of a wall sized poster

How did you get hold of the beta version of Reg 4? - is it available to lesser beings too, I've been hanging out for it?

cheers,
