Hi there

I bought a telescope, tripod and EQ mount from a Chinese importer four years ago but the tripod legs failed within a few months.

The diameter of the aperture is 220mm. I'm not sure if this is a standard size.

I put the telescope and mount aside, and purchased a Vixen VMC110L which is also advertised for sale here.

I am looking to sell this telescope and the mount (lacking the tripod legs) for $150 for both.

I am at Robina on the Gold Coast.

I found the optics to be sharp, and not in need of collimation as far as my eyes were concerned. It has screws on the back and on the vains for collimation, as far as I can see.

The scope is beautifully finished in gloss black, the mount mechanical quality looking to be good, but certainly not Vixen.

While this is not in the league of what is typically sold here, it may be of use for a seasoned amateur to add to their collection.

My wife just wants me to clean out my room. ;)

Freight would be by the buyer, or pickup is fine.

Cheers

Hi

I thought I would add a little more information to assist determining what the characteristics of this telescope are:

It is physically overall 650mm x 240mm, with the aperture being 225mm with the mirror obstruction being 50mm and spider gains that look about 2mm wide.

It comes with the finder pictured (I don't know its specs). I've kept the one eyepiece I used with it, a Baader Hyperion Zoom, which gave me sharp images. So no eyepieces included.

I don't have any intermediary mounting hardware from the base of the mount to the (discarded) tripod legs. I had considered having a metal shop make one or putting some large washers as 'spacers' between it and a conventional photographic tripod (like a heavy duty Manfrotto 055 or like).

Anyway, I hope that helps a little more.

Cheers

Ivan

I have two questions: what is the weight of the OTA and what sized eyepieces fit the focuser?

Hi Peter

It weighs 6.9kg.

I have used 1.25" eyepieces only. That is the size of the eyepiece holder.

Attached is a picture with the eyepiece holder removed.

I have no interest in the OTA but I would offer $50 for the mount. PM me if interested.
