Hi everyone,

the conditions started at 4/10 and quickly deteriated. It has been the warmest evening I have had for many months. It was still 20 degrees at 7:30. I am happy with the performance of the DFK, even with shooting through the jetstream.

Wow the shadow looks huge.

Is that a ganymede shadow transit? I love the way it's elongated due to being cast on the pole.

Nice image Lester.. when you get a good night i'm really looking forward to the results from your setup.

Thanks for all your kind comments,

Yes, I cannot wait for the jetstream to leave. I didn't know why the shadow was so large, thanks for the explanaition Mike.

Great image, Lester! Terrific sharpness in the moon and the shadow and the planet itself has a lot of detail for 4/10 seeing. Great things lying ahead. Let's hope you get at least one more night of decent seeing before this apparition is over.

That's the way Lester, thumb your nose at the Jetstream long enough and it pays dividends:D This is a really nice shot with plenty of detail. Moon shdow looks like a bottomless pit - love the colour on that moon too (which one is it?)

cheers,
