M16 Narrowband Hybrid

Here's another hybrid image

System1: Orion Optics UK AG12 + Starlightxpress SXV-H694

System2: Astrophysics 6" Starfire APO + FLI ProLine 11002

This was a little harder to get a good natural looking blend because the AG12 data was significantly sharper than the Starfire...I think it came out ok though :confuse3:

I tried for a bold colourful yet dark moody look with this one because the 3D Eagle nebula always makes me feel that way :question: definitely art in this one :painting:

What would look really cool is a composite with the core colours as you have them blended with a deep red/brown field of all the surrounding Ha nebulosity. There are a couple of bi-color shots shots like that: Ha (HaOiii) Oiii.

Great colours there Mike, and the resolution in the core is very fine. There is a noticeable difference between the central area and the outer regions from your old system as you say, but no issue with that. A beautiful outcome for sure. :thumbsup:

the blending is not noticeable unless pointed out - very nice resolution and the overall effect is suitably moody.

Cheers for the feedback guys, nice to know the look I was after is also seen by other eyes :thumbsup: and while I tried my best t'is good to know the blending is mostly only noticable to the scrutinising pre warned eye too :)..in the end can't work miracles I guess. Actually, I'm not a fan of normal unblended images you see where the progressive increased smoothing towards the outer regions of the field is obvious, so I was cognicent of that here too as best I could :)

I like the "sinister" look and the detail is awesome. I had a bit of a fiddle, and I think you could have curved blue a bit differently, the dark background is too blue.

The slight art bent suits me Mike, a pleasure to view.

Thanks Fred yes art, is fun sometimes... yes I saw the blueness in the dark areas that you mention and after a couple of alternative variations it must have just grown on me for some strange reason :question: :lol:..I have always had a bit of a blue bias huh? (well until your slamming my VERY ACCURATE red in the Cats Paw :rolleyes: :lol: :thumbsup:)
