I've got a brand new Telrad, with extra base, in original packing and documentation for trade for a 50mm finder with wireless illuminated cross-wires preferably Meade Blue or Black. Will not sell, this needs to be a trade.

No one got a "spare" finder??? The Telrad would be a good solution for a Dobbie???

Just been browsing the Bintel website for my weekly fix, and noted that the Telrad is listed at $85 + $17 for the extra base, whereas an Orion 9x50 finderscope is listed at $185, and that is without an illuminator. I suspect an 8x50 finder with illuminated reticule will be around $220 - $250?
Could be why no one has responded?
Cheers

I have a standard meade 50mm finder brand new never used but it's not iluminated.....I would consider the telrad if your interested.
The standard meade 50mm finder is more expensive then a telrad anyway.
Mine is white that I got with my Meade 8" Schmit-Newt just last week.

I've got one of the white el cheapo Meade finders... focus is poor, image is poor, crosswires are poor, eyepiece is poor..........
hence the want to swap.
I accept the pricing; but I'm prepared to look an an older finder etc. I take your point!

The other thing is most visiual folks with a 9x50 finder woudn't replace it
with a telrad, they would prefer to add it along with their finder. Some
times the older finders are better than the mass produced varieties of today.
Where as with a Telrad it can be made cheap and still perform as opposed
to something with optical elements.
good luck anyway
Rob
PS: would you be interested in the 6x30 that came with my 60mm?
i have a 8x50 GSO... i doubt its what you are after tho. its not illuminated for starters
