Hello,

After a long time playing hide and seek with the jet stream, more hide than seek, the seeing turned very good again late last night/early this morning.

Here is one of the better avi's of Posidonius. Captured in K3CCDTools, processed in Registax.

C9.25, Televue x2.5 Powermate, Philips ToUcam 840K.
84 frames from 1800. Wavelet 1=20.
1/33 sec at 5fps.

Cheers

Dennis

Nice catch Dennis.

It wasn't too bad around midnight last night, not great but it tempted me enough to stay outside

Did you get that intermittent cloud :mad2:

Hi Paul

Yes - the waves of cloud began to roll through around 1:00am so at 1:30am I decided to pack up even though it was still possible to grab a few 100 frames at a time between cloud sets. What was interesting is that when the clouds were scudding across the image on the notebook computer, the seeing did not take a big hit, apart from the image dimming.

What did you get up to last night/this morning?

Cheers

I grabbed a few Neptune and Uranus with the 300D. My uranus images were more washed out than my neptune images from the other night if possible. I'll see if I can make anything of them. After them I ran a few Avies of the moon with the hope of trying a Mike style mosaic with maybe a few less alignment points :P  There brief instances of very good seeing, so I'll take my time processing them and see what I can come up with.

Gee I hate those images that are optical illusions where you can't tell if the craters are outies or innies!

This one looks like an 'outie!'

Good shot Dennis

Thanks Mick!

The only filter used on the ToUcam was the standard IR blocking filter. I think it is a Baader model that I purchased from York Optical in Brisbane, for around $60-$70.
