Lovely clear night last night. Would have been imaging if the Ob was functional.
But went outside to take some stuff out and happened to look up as you do. Orange object high above scudding along. ??? What the heck is THAT ? :question: :eyepop:
Grabbed binos, followed it over Mt Albert till it disappeared, still no idea. About to go inside and another one appears, scudding along SE to NW direction, same path. Then another behind THAT ! And a few more.
Better look this time, overhead.
Large Red Chinese lanterns up at about 1000' all lit up from the flames inside.
OK, stand down, UFOs now identified. :thumbsup: :D total of 5 spotted
Funny thing but no wind at all at ground level but there must have been quite a strong breeze at their level as they were certainly moving along very quickly.
