It came together tonight - a clear sky and a favourable ISS pass, so I set up to see what I could see and capture.
For viewing I used my 20x80T binoculars - handheld.
For capture, I set up my ToUcam on a fixed tripod using a 16mm Sigma Fisheye lens @f/4 to give maximum field of view.
Captured with K3ccdtools using long exposure (0.5 sec), brightness 90%, Gamma 30%, saturation 50%, Gain 40%. I managed to get 7 frames of the ISS.
From the chart I got the camera setup and aligned, and exposure adjusted and took a couple of little practice AVIs. Right on queue the ISS appeared about 18:45, so I started th camera and had a squiz!
I could make out size to the ISS but not detail. It was simply too bright I think to resolve small detail while handholding. ...and if you think it moves quick - try following it with 20x 80 binoculars! You'll get bugs in your teeth!:lol:
The star in the right of frame is Spica.
I've made both a composite stack of the frames as well as an animation.
