A 'new' Floyd album will soon be released, based on material recorded during 'The Division Bell' sessions. Originally planned as part of a side project it will be an album of mainly ambient and instrumental music.
Nice. But why did it take 20 years to get around to it!!

Might be interesting, went to a tribute band concert last year and some of the stuff they played we had never heard before.

Bring it on I say, even 20 y/o 'new' PF will be welcome in todays soulless r'n'b dominated bebob world. Be even better if Roger was involved, but hey, i'll take it!

Cannot wait for this!!! The best live act I've ever seen was Roger Waters in Christchurch back in 2007.

From 1 review
" it sounds more like Pink Floyd – or at least the Pink Floyd who sold 50m copies of The Dark Side of the Moon (http://www.theguardian.com/music/musicblog/2011/aug/26/dark-side-moon-pink-floyd) – than any new album bearing their name in the past 35 years."
Be interesting to hear some new Floyd, still my most played music on my Ipod

Been listening to "The Division Bell" today at work. It is THE music that will get me through an otherwise dull day !

Downloaded Endless River yesterday morning before heading out for the day. 8 hours at a rowing regatta gave me time to play it through a few times, replayed a few tracks even more times.
It's certainly Pink Floyd, mainly instrumental and I've no problem with that, I enjoy their music, sometimes just music is louder than words.
It's not a major album you could feast on like DSOTM, Wish you were here, Animals or the Wall.
Its more a fine mix for those that appreciate Pink Floyds music and understand where it's come from.
The final track (of the deluxe edition), Nervana, surprised me at its start, a nice solid way for Gilmour to wrap it up I thought.

I too enjoyed this today Solitarian, (well the iTunes preview) & I will certainly buy this album. It is clearly a follow on/ out take, from the Division Bell. It is no accident the Roger Waters and David Gilmore are in the company of the 40 wealthiest musicians on the planet, they are awesome ! :eyepop:

My daughter flies into this country on Thursday, hopefully clutching the package in her hands! Four more sleeps!
