Yawn... got to get up early for this one.

Comet 2013 A1 (Siding Spring) 2014 July 03 1900UT (5am EST), 59 x 1 minute subs, Skywatcher ED100 at F7.2, Pentax K-5.

I was just thinking, looks like a little Hale-Bopp.

A slightly different view with stars and comet processed for best view. The comet is passing under magnitude 13 galaxy NGC1292.

There is a close approach of the comet with 47 Tuc on August 30/31 when the comet is much brighter and with Mars on October 19 so get your comet gear ready!

Based on numerous visual reports, the BAA predicts a peak magnitude of 9 for this comet. Somewhat less than expected.
