Hi All,
Saw some pix. of IC-1275 in "Astronomy" magazine a while back, so gave it a go, there are three objects in this area, IC-1274, IC-1275 and ngc-6559, just off M-8, and about the same distance (but at right angles) as M-20, These shots were taken using an ED-80 + F-6.3 focal reducer (to get the wide field) but I think that taking just this area at F-7.5 would have been a better way to go, has anyone else imaged these objects ???.

Pix. (ED80) 5 x 6 Min. at ISO-800, DF removed, guided with LX200-10"

cheers..........Jim

Hi All,
Thanks for the comments, and MIKE that is one nice picture, I assume it was taken with the ED80 at F-7.5, great guiding and fantastic resolution, a very interesting area, ill have another go when the moon goes over the hill later this weekend if the sky stays clear as it is at the moment.

Yes Jim that was the Orion 80ED at F7.5 using the SXV-H9 (9mm X 6.7mm chip) and True Technology filter wheel

Never have tried the Meade reducer on it but then I only have the F3.3 any way and I am sure it wouldn't work well with the 80ED..?
