Can someone please tell me the link to a website that shows a finder chart for the position of Neptune. :help:

I remember seeing the link on a thread recently and I'm sure it gives Neptune's position for the date of the particular day on entering the site.

Hope you can link me to it  I found Neptune easily last night with the ETX with the goto but I didn't have the Dob out.

Thanks

Barb

Barb,

Tried looking in Cartes du Ceil and thought of making a map for you BUT you will need several at different magnifications. If you don't have a copy of CDC think about downloading it, very worth while.

FWIW Neptune is in Capricornius and should be fairly easily found but when I go looking for these distant planets I find it much better to make a quick sketch of the FOV then revisit it regularly over the next few weeks and map the movement. Otherwise you just tick that you have seen a little bright star and not a wanderer which is where tye get their name from (planet basically means wandering star I think).

Cheers
