Hey all
These two pictures were my first foray in the world of Pixinsight. I have to admit I like them a lot more than my ramblings with Photoshop. All Hail Harry!
While I forget the details of M42, they're both taken with an ED80/EQ6 w/ guiding scope on the Northern Beaches of Sydney, NSW. No filters are used.
The M83 picture is still very much a work in progress. That was thrown together today with only a small amount of work. The noise reduction in the background is over-aggressive and has led to blotchyness. More care and time is needed. However, for an hour's work, I'm happy.
M83 was 30 minutes light time in 90sec subs, iso 400 on a Canon 40d modified. 15-20 minute darks and the odd flat.
M42 was probably 20 minutes light time, equal dark and no flats. Camera was the same.
Any improvement suggestions?
Thanks
Anthony
