I've just done a bit of reprocessing on my Aristarchus capture from Sunday night. I thought I'd see how it went through K3ccdtools at 2x enlargement. I just used the planetary wizard in K3.

AristK3 is the best 100 frames stacked at 2x enlargement, no wavelets and no unsharp mask.

AristK3RW is the same image as above but with wavelets applied in Registax. (1,1,1,6.4, 20.1, 40.1 roughly those figures).

AristK31w is the same image with unsharp mask applied in K3 at radius 1, 0 threshhold and strength 900.

AristK32w is the same image with unsharp mask applied in K3 at radius 2, 0 threshold and strength 517.

I did try Registax drizzle and resampling at 1.4x, but it seems to give chunky, blocky results especially when wavelets are applied.

Thoughts and comments? Which do you prefer?

Al.

The 2nd and 4th are the best, imho.

But I actually prefer the original scale :)

probably the second Al, but all are nice - one of my favourite features with it's twin river valleys snaking away across the plain:D
