Hi all

Still chugging through avi's from the 3rd and 6th of August. Here's one from the 6th, this time of Tycho with a fairly high sun angle.

Quite pleased with how this one turned out, and is probably one of my best Tycho images.

It was taken with the 3x barlow, DMK21AF04, R+IR filter, 30fps for approx 2 minutes, on my usual 10" dob on EQ platform.

8 point MAP processing, LR deconvolution and high-pass filtering was applied to process this image.

Thanks for looking.

Beautiful image, as we've come to expect from you, Mike. I've also got a Tycho to post (not quite as good). Hope you don't mind I'll post it here for comparison.

Capture:
Negative Projection: C8, 2.5x Powermate, moon filter ToUcam.
K3ccdtools: 1/25 sec, >1200 frames, 10fps, gamma 0%, saturation 0%, gain 15%, brightness 70%.

Processing:
Registax, ~100 frames stacked, wavelets, rotated.
Photoshop CS2: crop and save for web.

Al.

Thanks Al, and yours is very nice too!

I've replaced my original attachment with a reprocessed version - all the same except levels adjusted to increase contrast. I think it's much better.

Aww, c'mon guys. Give us a 'bad' pic, once in a while...:P
They are both very nice pics. Details in/around crater are fantastic. :D L.

Mike, these moon shots of yours are really top notch. The peppering of smaller craters here is mind boggling. Great detail and depth:thumbsup:

Hi Mike

That is very nice and smooth - it does not look pushed at all, even for the less than ideal seeing. The DMK is certainly delivering excellent results in your capable hands.

Cheers

Dennis
