Hi Folks,

Ran a systems check last night on my camera, on a rare nice clear night in Melbourne.

I got my SBIG 8300C back last week after it's enforced "Family Holiday" at the factory in the USA.
Pleased to say that it is back to 100% and the sensor is nice and clean too. :)

Chose a popular target M20 for a straight RGB run, from the 'burbs with the IDAS LP filter, (no Ha this time around).

Processed in PS with a bit of LAB mode to bring back the yellow stars.

15x10 mins with darks. Nice to get a bit more detail, looking forward to trying this again under a dark sky.

Thanks for looking

Andy

Wow. Nice one. Looks great. Looks a little bit too blue for my eyes/monitor though.

Do you have an original? Non-compressed version?

Maybe i should set up a webpage for high res pix, as the IIS 200kb image limit can pretty harsh on Jpegs. ... and there's ASTROBIN too - do you or anyone use/have any experience/thoughts on this?

Cheers

Nice Andy. Pity about the compression artifacts. I would recommend Astrobin. All the data is nicely displayed and you can upload large images. Once your image has been uploaded you just need the link to make multiple postings on different sites--very convenient.
