World Cup 2014?
Sure, I watched, but it's over already. Australia beat The Netherlands 6-1 in the final last Sunday. It was a great match. Australia are world champions again after previously winning in 2010.
Oh, wait a minute ...
Are you talking about soccer?
I'm talking about hockey! ;)

It's been a fantastic World Cup so far. The highest goals per game in a lifetime!
I'm supporting:
Australia (great performances but no luck)
Portugal (could also be on the way out)
Germany (looking good but the South American conditions will probably get to them eventually)
Have a soft spot for France as well. Loved them in the '80s.
But assuming a European team isn't going to win in South America for the first time ever, gotta go for Brazil.

Yep, bought a new TV to watch it (well sort of, Barry bought for my house). Then I get shipped off to India for a week, so everyone else is enjoying it except me.

Following France obviously. Good results so far. Looks like a strong team. Not so good results in rubgy union though. That was painful to watch yesterday.
The poms got unlucky both in draw and results. They had a lot more to show imho. Germans look really strong this year. Argentina too. Very good game to watch so far. Costa rica's on fire. Very young team with a lot of talent.

strangely marc where i am from in the northwest of england we are not overly concerned about our national team, whether it sounds strange to people or not it is club before country
however this time around i have found more than half of my football club are making up the england team ha ha!......... talk about a dilemma
despite the very disappointing results for them (and one smartarse comment from daniel) i am glad that just about all of the youngsters got trotted out for an airing and got some invaluable experience
my personal motto every world cup to the hard core brits?
england....... making other teams look fab since 1966!
as a side note i am so proud of our aussies, too slow out the blocks for their first game but by 'eck they gave the oranje a bit of a scare!
i would love an african team to take it out but alas they dont have the mental stamina, fabulous footballers!
the best game, the best competition and the most complete
athletes
i hope this does not sound wrong in any way but i wish our indiginous people would be more interested in our game instead of the "kick and giggle" here
i am absolutely convinced however that australia could easily be consistently in the top five football nations in the world, but our sport preferances are spread too thinly
