The subject is really open to interpretation, which means we're seeing a lot of varied entries. Great to see.
I agree Mike, it's great to see all the various takes on the theme.
Well done everyone.
Keep those entries coming in.

Yeah, it's fun to have a simple topic that people can play with. Different takes and plays on"red" for example. I immediately started thinking of all sorts of cryptic plays on the word, like having a sunburned redhead reading "Little Red Riding Hood" (with a red cover of course) on a Red Sea beach... but in the end I had to settle for a red bird... life's like that!

Unfortunatly I've changed my mind and this month's topic will be "Something Aqua marine green"...:P

Thanks Al. The composition is mainly due to how I cropped it :P. I tried to get a close up of the bird but it wouldn't sit still for more than a couple of seconds at a time and I needed a much longer lens anyway.
Photographing wild animals is very frustrating, but very enjoyable :)

Jupiter, If you'll pardon the expression, that's eggsactly what will happen.
"Red Rooster" had crossed my mind as a subject, but I must say that I had not made the connection that occurred to you. Well thought through!

Good luck everyone, will be tough picking.

Still a couple of days to go, but what a bunch to choose from. By far the best collection that I have seen to date. Members really have exercised their creative, artistic and imaginative powers this time. Well done all.

For such an open subject, I found the challenge well……quite.......challenging. Every time I had a good idea, before I could execute it, someone else posted their interpretation of the image, so back to the drawing board it was, several times! Until, out of desperation I locked myself in the garage last night with a few red things.
Fantastic spectrum of entries that are all deserving - well done to everyone.
Cheers
Dennis
yeah, never mind the compliments, i am still waiting for my prize for finding the speed of dark :P

A large number of good quality entries, looking to be a very tough pick.
let me guess, you are going to drive around my neighbourhood and shoot out all the lights with a shotgun? (say yes pleaase :prey:)_
yup, we have a stack of images there and they are all excellent! :)
Dujon

Wow, what a great number of entries!
I've just done my voting. I could only sort out four - there was a number of entries vying for the fifth spot so, rather than tilt the voting by making a rash decision, I voted for just the four.
I trust that I'm not breaking the rules by doing so, Mike.

A great effort by all, RB (yet again) looks like taking the prize, although his entry looked a bit dicey to me, but it looks as though he has the numbers.....:P

My photo isn't that bad is it? Zero votes. Come on, surely there must be some die-hard commies on a site this big who would like to vote for it. :(

Hey Steve
Far too subtle mate!
Whilst I lived through the "Reds under the bed" and the "Cold War" era, maybe Generation Y are too young and may have missed the subtle play on words?
However, you can console yourself with the fact that it IS a wonderful image, showing some stunning architecture, set in a beautiful place and I certainly enjoyed looking at it.
Cheers
Dennis
lol steve, the problem is that unless you are probably politically minded you aren't gunna get it. great image tho :)
and i thought that mine was worth more than 6 votes too... but there you go, we have a tough audience huh! :P
and while RB's image is really good and show considerable skill (here i am acting all profesional ), to me it lack emotion... its horses for courses here :)

Hi Andrew
Well, 2 in a row eh! Well done! Your entry was superb and was a deserving winner.
As always, I also really enjoyed browsing all the other entries. Their interpretation was wide, varied and at times fascinating, so well done to all those that entered, you are champions too.
Cheers
