Spikes or Rubber Feet?

Has anyone real life experience with mobile setups using heavy photo tripods: what is better on bitumen and gravel in terms of stability and vibrations, Spikes or Rubber Feet.

For hard surfaces (concrete, bitumen) I use rubber feet, for soft or shifty ground (grass, sand, gravel) I use spikes.
