Finally got some clear sky the other night and first chance to get some data with the new Neximage 5. Got a few avi's using various settings and such getting a feel for the cam.

Packed up and went to transfer the avi's to my main computer for processing and found the wifi only wanting to transmit files at < 100kb's. Well that wasn't going to work so I spent the next few hours trying to fix this file transfer bottleneck. Eventually got fed up and went to bed.

Next morning I awoke with the brainwave of reinstalling the operating system and promptly wiped the laptop, avi's and all. :screwy:

And to rub salt into the wound reinstalling didn't fix the slow file transfer problem.:mad2:

Eventually sorted the file transfer problem, of course, now it's overcast and rainy again.

But hey, I'm learning patience, truly :P

It really sucks doesn't it? Plenty of people including myself have had the head banger moment. My particular favourite is my daughter dropping a 2000$ camera. She didn't know it wouldn't bounce.
Hasn't done much since frankly. The camera I mean. Software gooblies seem to be the most frequent and the most frustrating. Especially at night, in the dark and cold, and miles away from the nearest update.
I feel your pain.
