Hi guys
here me again to share the results of the last clear night here in Italy, despite the moon is a bit intrusive.

Is taken from my backyard in Fara Sabina, 20 miles north Rome, SQM around 19.5 :help:

Image unpretentious, poor integration and a tad out of focus :foreheadslap:

Eos60D_CDS and RC8@f8 on Avalon M-Uno mount using idas d1 clip-on filter, 11x900s 1600iso subs @-16° autoguiding with a standalone Lacerta MGen.

Hi-res version here: http://www.astrobin.com/100215/

I hope you enjoy and, as ever, comments are welcome ;)

Cheers,
Elio

That turned out very well despite your troubles.

That's not a bad image Elio, we don't see many of these northern objects down under  To me though it looks more like a collimation issue rather than focusing; the stars look reasonably tight in the bottom right area, but show signs of collimation problems in the other corners.

I agree with David but at least you got an image

Thank you Greg ;)

Thank you David, me too, that's the sharing of night sky's ;)
I'm sure the problem was focus, I tried to better with processing...and make it worth in the corners
Here the same configuration in focus, take a look ;)

Indeed, never mind, I took an image anyway... thanks you too

It is a nice image and I hope to see more of it if you get it again more to your own satisfaction.

Looks good Elio. Perhaps using a focusing routine will help a little. Collimation might be out but not by much in my opinion.

Hello Elio, the collimation looks good in your M13 image, but there definitely appears to be a slight collimation problem with the Cygnus Wall image. Look at the corners of the image:
Upper left: stars are elongated radially from the centre of the frame.
Lower left: stars are elongated in a horizontal direction.
Upper right: stars are slightly elongated radially from the centre.
Lower right: stars are quite good.

So, different elongations in the corners is a tell-tale sign of mis-collimation, although if you don't use a field flattener this will also cause similar issues in the corners (though they would look similar in each corner if collimated).

David you are right about corners but out of foucus make it worse... and this is a little cropped area because dithering... the collimation is the same of M13, as well, the entire OTA is still on the mount ;)

Thank you Paul, the problem with focusing because I had turned angle of the camera for composition, I should have refocusing after rotation
I agree about collimation, not perfect but enjoyable when right "in focus"
